Arrival in Paro and a scenic drive to the capital via Tamchhog Lhakhang, the Kuenselphodrang Buddha viewpoint, the Memorial Chorten and Tashichho Dzong.
A morning hike to Cheri Monastery through the Jigme Dorji Wildlife Sanctuary, a visit to a traditional handmade-paper factory, and the weekend market and craft bazaar.
Cross Dochula Pass (3,140m) and its 108 chortens, then descend into the remote Phobjikha valley below Gangtey Monastery, wintering ground of the black-necked crane.
Visit Gangtey Monastery above the Phobjikha valley, then hike to Chimi Lhakhang, the "temple of fertility" built by the Divine Madman in 1499.
Visit Punakha Dzong at the confluence of the Mo Chhu and Pho Chhu rivers, then drive to Paro to see Rinpung Dzong and the 7th-century Kichu Lhakhang.
Hike to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger's Nest), perched 800m up a cliff above the valley, then visit a traditional Paro farmhouse.
Transfer to Paro International Airport for your onward flight.
