A faster overland pilgrimage to Mount Kailash (6,638m) and Lake Manasarovar (4,600m) via the Rasuwagadhi/Kerung border, reaching Darchen by day five and completing the Kailash Kora over the Dolma-La Pass (5,630m) in three days.
Kathmandu → Rasuwagadhi/Timure → Kyirong → Saga → Lake Manasarovar → Darchen → Dirapuk → Dolma-La Pass → Zuthulphuk → Saga → Kyirong → Kathmandu.
An early drive to Rasuwagadhi along the Trishuli river and criss-crossing mountain roads.
Complete immigration and customs at Rasuwagadhi, meet the Tibetan guide, and continue to Kyirong town.
Drive via the Kyirong high pass, Peiku Tso Lake and the Brahmaputra River.
Cross Mayum-La Pass and drive around Lake Manasarovar to Chiu Gompa.
A holy bath and puja at the lake, then on to Darchen, base for the Kailash Kora.
Drive to Yama Dwar for the closest darshan of Kailash's south face, then trek to Dirapuk.
The hardest day of the pilgrimage, crossing Dolma-La Pass (5,630m) past Gaurikund to Zuthulphuk.
A short final trek to rejoin the vehicles at Darchen, then a long drive back to Saga.
Return drive to Kyirong/Kerung county.
Cross the border and drive back to Kathmandu.
