A circuit around Manaslu (8,163m), the world's eighth-highest peak — far less trekked than the Everest or Annapurna routes despite similarly dramatic scenery. From Soti Khola the trail climbs the Budi Gandaki valley through Gurung and Ghale villages thick with monasteries and prayer flags, crossing the high Larkya La pass (5,190m) before descending toward the Annapurna Circuit's Marsyangdi valley.
Kathmandu → Soti Khola → Machha Khola → Jagat → Deng → Namrung → Samagaon → Samdo → Dharamsala → Larkya La Pass → Bhimtang → Tilje → Chyamje → Besisahar → Kathmandu.
Airport pickup, hotel transfer, welcome drink and a group briefing with your guide.
An 8–9 hour drive via Dhading Besi and Arughat Bazaar, on paved and then off-road tracks, through the Nepali countryside.
Along the Budhi Gandaki, past two waterfalls near Khursane, through Sal forest.
Via Khorla Besi and the Tatopani hot spring, crossing the Budhi Gandaki several times.
Climbing to Salleri, then via Sirdibas and Philim, crossing a Budhi Gandaki gorge to Deng.
Via the Rana hilltop and Prok village, with views of the Siringi mountains, to the Buddhist village of Namrung.
Over the Rupinala pass with views of Manaslu, Gorkha and Saula, past Shyala village to Samagaon.
A rest day exploring Samagaon's Sherpa culture and the Pungyen Gompa, named for Manaslu itself.
Toward the Tibetan border, with the trail splitting toward Manaslu Base Camp or Larkya La.
A short, strenuous hike along the Salka valley to the stone inn at the base of the Larkya La pass.
Crossing the Larkya La glacier and pass (5,190m) for views of Manaslu, Ratna Chuli and Annapurna II, then down through highland meadows to Bhimtang.
Past the grazing pastures of Sangure Kharka and through rhododendron forest to Tilje.
Via Thonje and Dharapani, meeting the Annapurna Circuit trail, through subtropical forest to Chyamje.
A drive along the Marsyangdi river to Besisahar and on to Kathmandu, with a farewell dinner in the evening.
A small farewell ceremony before transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport.
