Cross Kampala Pass to Yamdrok Lake and the Karola Glacier, visit Pelkhor Chode Monastery in Gyantse, then continue to Shigatse.
Drive past views of Makalu, Lhotse, Gyachung and Cho Oyu to Rongbuk Monastery, the highest monastery in the world, for the first sight of Everest.
