Island Peak (6,189m) climbing combined with the classic Everest Base Camp trek — a trekking peak with a glaciated west face rising from the Lhotse Glacier, popular with climbers who have little or no mountaineering experience. The route follows the standard EBC trail to Kala Patthar before turning into the Chhukung valley for pre-climb training and the summit push, with acclimatization built in at regular intervals.
Kathmandu → Lukla → Namche Bazaar → Tengboche → Dingboche → Chhukung → Island Peak Base Camp → Island Peak Summit → Namche → Lukla → Kathmandu.
Airport pickup, hotel transfer and a pre-trip discussion with your guide.
An early flight to Lukla's Tenzing-Hillary Airport, then a short first trekking day to Phakding.
Through pine forest along the Dudh Koshi, crossing five suspension bridges — including the high Hillary Bridge — into Sagarmatha National Park and up to Namche Bazaar.
A rest day with an optional hike to Everest View Hotel (3,880m) or Khumjung village, home to the Hillary School and a monastery said to house a yeti relic.
An easy walk to Phunki then a climb to Tengboche, the largest monastery in the Khumbu region, inside the UNESCO-listed Sagarmatha National Park.
Through birch and rhododendron forest, down to Debuche and across the Imja River to Pangboche, then up the Imja Valley to Dingboche's stone-walled barley fields.
A walk through stone-walled fields and glacier moraine in the Imja Khola valley, with Island Peak coming into view beyond Bibre village.
A climb to Chhukung Ri (5,546m) for views of Ama Dablam and the Amphu Labsa peaks, then back down to Chhukung.
A steep trail across Imja and Lhotse glacier moraines into the wide valley on Island Peak's southwest side.
A day of guided training in ice axe, crampon, harness and rope technique before the summit attempt.
A pre-dawn start for the summit (6,189m) via a rock gully and fixed-rope glacier traverse, crossing two crevasses by ladder, before descending back to base camp.
A descent back through the Khumbu Khola valley via Orsho and Shomare to Pangboche, framed by Ama Dablam, Thamserku and Kangtaiga.
Retracing the route through Tengboche and the Dudh Koshi gorge back to Namche Bazaar.
A long descending final trekking day back to Lukla.
A morning flight back to Kathmandu, with a farewell dinner celebrating the summit.
Transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward flight.
