Ruby Valley Ganesh Himal Trek is one of the most beautiful trekking routes in Nepal. This route is new and visited by a small number of trekkers. This trek covers parts of the Langtang National Park and the Annapurna Conservation Area.
Ruby valley trek provides majestic view of peaks in the Central and Western part of Nepal. Peaks on sight include the Ganesh Himal, Langtang Lirung, Bouddha, Hiuchuli and Lakpa Dorje. The trek provides an experience of living with the wonderful Tamang and Gurung people of Nepal. The region, being less frequented by tourists, does not have many hotels and guest houses. Home stay is the only option for most part of the tour. The Tamangs and Gurungs have a rich and unique culture. Their hospitality is impeccable.
Ganesh is the elephant headed god of the Hindus. He is the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. The mountain is named after him. The region surrounding Ganesh Himal is famous for its Ruby, Zinc, Limestone, Granite and Copper deposits. It is believed that Sherthung, a place that lies on our trail, possesses gold deposits.
Most of your path will be covered by pine and rhododendron forests. Rhododendron is the national flower of Nepal. These forests are home to over 500 species of plants, 300 species of birds and hundreds of species of wild animals. A place settled by humans is characterized by beautiful terraced farms.
Other highlights of the trek include the Chukarma waterfall, 200m, and the popular rock climbing spot in Bhandari Bhir. Pasang La Pass is the highest point and one of the most beautiful places of the trek.
Kathmandu → Syabru Besi → Gatlang → Somdang → Pasang La Pass → Tipling → Chalise → Darkha Gaun → Kathmandu.
After arrival at the International airport at Kathmandu, you will be greeted by our representative from Himanshu tours and transfer to the hotel. After having some rest there we will be discussing the trek details and necessary equipment that you need while trekking. Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu.
Drive from Kathmandu to Syabru Besi via Dhunche. The journey provides a panoramic view of the Mountains, small community and villages, beautiful river gorges and waterfalls, fascinating impenetrable forests, scenic terraced fields, where local citizens are plowing the field and working. The first part of your drive up to Trishuli Bazaar is quite smooth and afterward the trailheads along the gravel road. On the time of Monsoon, the trail is blocked due to the landslides. After a warm breakfast, you will begin your trek with your trekking team following the zigzags uphill track to Bhaun Danda pass which will lead you to the Tamang settlement of Gatlang. After reaching there, you can enjoy exploring the Tamang settlement; make some chit chat with
You will cross the forest of pine and rhododendron after leaving Gatlang. With some sweats, you will reach Yuri Kharka for delicious lunch and again start your walk towards the Somdang River (border of Rasuwaa and Dhading district). Overnight in Lodge/Tea house.
Today you will be reaching the highest point of the trek i.e. Pasang pass from where you can enjoy the great views of Manaslu peak and other Ganesh Himal ranges. After your delicious meal, you will move towards Tipling, a destination for overnight stay. Overnight in Lodge/Tea house.
Today you can explore the local area of Tipling, make some chit chat with locals and can also involve in their work. Overnight in Lodge/Tea house.
You will descend to cross Adha Khola and ascend to Shertung (place of gold), a Tamang village after your delicious and warm Lunch. You will spend some quality of time by interacting with locals and move towards Chalise for overnight stay. Overnight in Lodge/Tea house.
By enjoying your breakfast with good sunlight, you will begin today's trek. You will cross the small forest, rivers and will stop at Percho for lunch. Then you will continue your remaining walk of the day till you enter the Darkha Gaon. Overnight in Lodge/Tea house.
An hour walk to Darkha Phedi after your breakfast is the moment where you conclude your trek of Ruby valley. A 4wd vehicle will be standing by to take you back to the capital, Kathmandu via Dhading Besi. Overnight at the hotel
