The Khopra Ridge Community Trek sits off the busy Annapurna trails, yet delivers views every bit as good — Annapurna South, Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri and Fang — from teahouses with some of the best panoramas in Nepal. It's the only trek in the region with two full days walking along a ridge, plus a demanding side trip to the sacred, glacial Khayer (Kaire) Lake at 4,500m.
Kathmandu → Pokhara → Ghandruk → Tadapani → Dobato → Upper Chistibung → Khopra Ridge → Swanta → Ulleri → Nayapul → Pokhara → Kathmandu.
A Himanshu Tours representative meets you at Tribhuvan International Airport and transfers you to the hotel, followed by a trip briefing.
A 6–7 hour drive west through farming terraces and mountain valleys, with views of the Annapurna and Manaslu ranges on approach to Pokhara.
A morning of Pokhara sightseeing, then a roughly 3.5-hour drive to Ghandruk, a major Gurkha recruitment village and hub of the Annapurna Conservation Area Project.
A 3–4 hour walk through dense rhododendron forest with close views of Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South and Hiunchuli.
Leaving the main Annapurna trails behind for a more remote route, with a 4–5 hour walk through diverse forest to Dobato and views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna South.
A 4–5 hour walk through pastures and forest to a herder's settlement, with a chance of spotting Danphe (Nepal's national bird) and Himalayan thar.
A 3–4 hour climb above the tree line to Khopra Ridge, with a viewpoint over the Kali Gandaki gorge and panoramas of Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri and Annapurna South.
A demanding 9–10 hour round trip to the sacred, glacier-fed Khayer Lake (4,500m), considered holy by Hindus and ringed by Hindu and Buddhist shrines; a shorter half-day option is available.
A 5–6 hour descent off the ridge with continued views of Dhaulagiri over terraced fields and traditional villages.
A 5–6 hour walk through Chittre and Ghorepani, joining the main Ghorepani-Poon Hill trail before descending through rhododendron forest to Ulleri.
A final 4–5 hour trekking day down to Nayapul through the western hills, then a short drive back to Pokhara.
A 6-hour drive back to Kathmandu, arriving in the evening.
A representative drops you at the airport approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight.
