Probably the best short trek in Nepal: an eight-day loop through the Annapurna foothills to the sunrise viewpoint of Poon Hill (3,210m), with more than 20 Himalayan peaks — including Dhaulagiri and the Annapurnas — visible at once. The route passes through Gurung villages, rhododendron forest and the well-known lookout village of Ghandruk.
Kathmandu → Pokhara → Ulleri → Ghorepani → Poon Hill → Ghandruk → Nayapul → Pokhara → Kathmandu.
A Himanshu Tours representative meets you at Tribhuvan International Airport and transfers you to the hotel, followed by a trip briefing.
A 6–7 hour drive along the Trishuli and Marshyangdi rivers to Pokhara, with a free afternoon on arrival.
A 2-hour drive to Nayapul, then a 6-hour walk through subtropical forest, crossing the Bhurungdi Khola before a steep, stepped climb to Ulleri.
A 4–5 hour climb to Ghorepani, a former trading campsite with panoramic views of Annapurna South and Nilgiri from its upper section.
A pre-dawn climb to Poon Hill (3,210m) for sunrise over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges, then a 6–7 hour descent through rhododendron forest via Tadapani to the Gurung village of Ghandruk.
A 4-hour downhill walk via Birethanti to Nayapul, then a short drive back to Pokhara.
A 5–6 hour drive back to Kathmandu, arriving by evening.
A representative drops you at the airport approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight.
