Everest Base Camp Trek is the King of all trekking in Nepal. The highlight of the trek is the visit to Mount Everest Base Camp (EBC). The base camp of Everest is at an altitude of 5,365 m. The itinerary of the trek is longer compared to an Everest Base Camp trek and an even shorter 12 day trek to the base camp of Mount Everest. The itinerary is designed to allow a day of sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley at the start of the trek and enough acclimatization opportunity.
The Khumbu valley – where most of the trek takes place – is home of the wonderful Sherpa people. The Sherpa’s are Buddhists. There are many monasteries in the Everest region like Pangboche, Tengboche and Dingboche. Most of trekking to EBC takes place along the banks of the Dudh Koshi River. You will spot many species of endangered plants and animals during the trek. Impeyan Pheasant (Danfe), Snow Pigeon, Mountain Goats, Yak, Snow Leopard is among the animals and birds encountered on the way. Rhododendron, Magnolia and Giant Firs form a majority of vegetation. The forests are dense green with temperate vegetation in the lower belt of Everest Region. The middle belt possesses alpine vegetation. The final stage of the Everest Base Camp Trek is characterized by Tundra vegetation.
The trek to Everest starts with a flight to Lukla from Kathmandu. We first walk to Namche Bazaar from Lukla. Namche Bazaar is also known as the gateway to Everest. We will part ways with trekkers on the Everest High Pass Trek and Gokyo Lake Trek from Namche. The settlements are sparse as we head north from Namche. Ancient monasteries like Tengboche and Dingboche lie on our road to Everest Base Camp. The most thrilling part of Everest Base Camp trek is the walk along Khumbu glacier just before reaching base camp of Everest. Khumbu is one of the largest glaciers on the planet. Kala Patthar, meaning black rock, is at a higher altitude (5,545 m) than Everest and provides stunning view of the nearby mountain peaks.

A representative from Himanshu Tours and trek will be waiting outside the Tribhuvan International airport (TIA) according to your flight schedule to transfer you to the hotel. A short briefing will be done about the trip once you have checked in. Overnight in Kathmandu.
A short early-morning flight to Lukla (2,850m), where all Everest treks begin. From Cheplung village — with a glimpse of the sacred, unclimbed Mt. Khumbila — the trail gradually descends to Phakding.
Through pine forest and the Benkar valley, across the Dudh Koshi, past Chumoa and Monjo into Sagarmatha National Park, then a steep climb into Namche Bazaar, the Everest region's biggest town.
A rest day built around a hike to Hotel Everest View (3,880m) — the highest-altitude hotel in the world — for views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam and Kongde, plus a visit to the Hillary School and a monastery said to house a yeti scalp.
An easy walk to Phunki, then a climb to Tengboche village and its monastery — the largest in the Everest region, inside the UNESCO-listed Sagarmatha National Park, with panoramic views of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam and Thamserku.
Through birch, conifer and rhododendron forest, downhill to Debuche, across the Imja River to Pangboche, then up the Imja Valley to Dingboche — a picturesque village of barley, potato and buckwheat fields.
A ridge climb behind the village reveals six of the world's tallest peaks, including Lhotse, Makalu and Cho Oyu, plus Cholatse, Taboche and the Imja Khola valley.
Past the campsite of the first successful 1953 Everest expedition, with views of Mt. Pumori, to Thukla and its memorial cairns for climbers lost on Everest, then along the Khumbu Glacier moraine to Lobuche.
A glacier-moraine walk to Gorak Shep, then on to Everest Base Camp (5,316m) itself, weaving between ice towers on the upper Khumbu Glacier with views of Nuptse, Khumbutse and Pumori, before returning to Gorak Shep.
A pre-dawn climb to Kala Patthar (5,545m) — the trek's highest point, with Lingtren, Khumbutse and Changtse en route and an unobstructed summit view of Everest — then back to Gorak Shep and down to Pheriche.
A long descending day through rhododendron and juniper, across the Dudh Koshi, with views from Sansa of Ama Dablam, Thamserku and Nuptse, back to Namche Bazaar.
A mostly downhill trail along the Dudh Koshi, crossing several suspension bridges past monasteries and villages, for the last night on the mountain.
A short morning flight back to Kathmandu. Rest, souvenir shopping or optional sightseeing, with a farewell dinner at a cultural restaurant in the evening.
