The king of all Nepal treks: fourteen days from Kathmandu to Mount Everest Base Camp (5,364m), through the Khumbu valley's Sherpa villages and monasteries — Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, Dingboche — along the Dudh Koshi river, with a day of Kathmandu sightseeing and extra acclimatization built into the schedule. The final stretch follows the Khumbu Glacier, one of the largest on the planet, before a pre-dawn climb to Kala Patthar (5,545m) for the classic close-up view of Everest.
Kathmandu → Lukla → Namche Bazaar → Tengboche → Everest Base Camp → Kala Patthar → Namche → Lukla → Kathmandu.
A Himanshu Tours representative meets you at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) and transfers you to the hotel, followed by a short trip briefing.
A short early-morning flight to Lukla (2,850m), where all Everest treks begin. From Cheplung village — with a glimpse of the sacred, unclimbed Mt. Khumbila — the trail gradually descends to Phakding.
Through pine forest and the Benkar valley, across the Dudh Koshi, past Chumoa and Monjo into Sagarmatha National Park, then a steep climb into Namche Bazaar, the Everest region's biggest town.
A rest day built around a hike to Hotel Everest View (3,880m) — the highest-altitude hotel in the world — for views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam and Kongde, plus a visit to the Hillary School and a monastery said to house a yeti scalp.
An easy walk to Phunki, then a climb to Tengboche village and its monastery — the largest in the Everest region, inside the UNESCO-listed Sagarmatha National Park, with panoramic views of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam and Thamserku.
Through birch, conifer and rhododendron forest, downhill to Debuche, across the Imja River to Pangboche, then up the Imja Valley to Dingboche — a picturesque village of barley, potato and buckwheat fields.
A ridge climb behind the village reveals six of the world's tallest peaks, including Lhotse, Makalu and Cho Oyu, plus Cholatse, Taboche and the Imja Khola valley.
Past the campsite of the first successful 1953 Everest expedition, with views of Mt. Pumori, to Thukla and its memorial cairns for climbers lost on Everest, then along the Khumbu Glacier moraine to Lobuche.
A glacier-moraine walk to Gorak Shep, then on to Everest Base Camp (5,316m) itself, weaving between ice towers on the upper Khumbu Glacier with views of Nuptse, Khumbutse and Pumori, before returning to Gorak Shep.
A pre-dawn climb to Kala Patthar (5,545m) — the trek's highest point, with Lingtren, Khumbutse and Changtse en route and an unobstructed summit view of Everest — then back to Gorak Shep and down to Pheriche.
A long descending day through rhododendron and juniper, across the Dudh Koshi, with views from Sansa of Ama Dablam, Thamserku and Nuptse, back to Namche Bazaar.
A mostly downhill trail along the Dudh Koshi, crossing several suspension bridges past monasteries and villages, for the last night on the mountain.
A short morning flight back to Kathmandu. Rest, souvenir shopping or optional sightseeing, with a farewell dinner at a cultural restaurant in the evening.
