One of the Everest region's toughest trails, linking Everest Base Camp, the Gokyo Lakes and three high passes — Kongma La (5,535m), Cho La (5,368m) and Renjo La (5,338m) — in a single 19-day loop. From Namche the route splits away from the standard EBC trail toward Thame and the Sherpa heartland before rejoining it via Gokyo and Cho La, taking in Kala Patthar and the five lakes of Gokyo Valley along the way.
Kathmandu → Lukla → Namche Bazaar → Thame → Lungden → Renjo La → Gokyo → Cho La → Everest Base Camp → Kala Patthar → Kongma La → Chhukung → Namche → Lukla → Kathmandu.

Along the Bhote Koshi through pine and rhododendron forest, past an ancient stupa at Phurte, to the untouched village of Thame.

A short day across the Ngozumpa Glacier to preserve energy for the Cho La crossing ahead.
Crossing Cho La (5,350m) for views of Ama Dablam, Cholatse and Lobuche East, then down to Dzongla.
A narrow trail between snowy peaks, past Dughla Lake, to Lobuche.
