Also known as the Annapurna Sanctuary Trek, this eleven-day route through the Annapurna Conservation Area is one of Nepal's most popular treks. It passes through Gurung villages and thick rhododendron forest along the Modi River before reaching the natural amphitheatre of Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m), ringed by Machhapuchhre, Annapurna, Gangapurna, Dhaulagiri and Himchuli.
Kathmandu → Pokhara → Kande → Tolkha → Chhomrong → Himalaya Hotel → Annapurna Base Camp → Bamboo → Jhinu Danda → Nayapul → Pokhara → Kathmandu.
A Himanshu Tours representative meets you at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) and transfers you to the hotel, followed by a short trip briefing.
A 6–7 hour drive along the Trishuli and then Marshyangdi rivers, through local settlements, to Nepal's lake city. Free afternoon after check-in.
An hour's drive to the Kande (1,750m) trailhead, then a climb to Australian Camp (2,060m), an early lunch, and on via Pothana's ACAP/TIMS checkpoint, Deurali and Bichok to Tolkha.
An easy, flat trail along the Modi Khola to Jhinu Danda (1,780m), then a steep climb through Landruk and New Bridge to Chhomrong — the largest Gurung village in the district and the only gateway to Annapurna Base Camp.
Downhill to Chhomrong Khola, then a difficult uphill stretch to Sinuwa, followed by an easier flat trail to Bamboo (2,340m) for lunch before the final climb to Himalaya Hotel.
Up to Deurali (3,230m) through forest at the base of Machhapuchhre, on to Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3,700m) for a rest stop, then the final push — short but intense in the thin air — into the sanctuary and its 360° mountain views.
Sunrise over Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Annapurna I and Fishtail, then breakfast and a long descent back down the valley to Bamboo.
Back through Sinuwa and Chhomrong to Jhinu Danda, famous for the natural hot springs where the Modi Khola and Kyumun Khola meet.
A flat, easy final trekking day through New Bridge and Syauli Bazaar to Nayapul (1,760m), then a 1–2 hour drive back to Pokhara.
Return along the Prithvi Highway to Kathmandu (a domestic flight is available at extra cost).
A Himanshu Tours representative drops you at the airport around 3 hours before your scheduled flight.
