Jugal Himal Base camp Trek

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu, a representative from Himanshu Tours and Travels will meet you outside the airport terminal according to your flight schedule. You will be transferred comfortably to your hotel in Kathmandu. After check-in and some rest, your trekking guide will provide a short briefing about the Jugal Himal Base Camp Trek, including the itinerary, trekking conditions, safety precautions, packing requirements, and necessary preparations. If time permits, you can explore the surrounding area of Kathmandu or enjoy a relaxing evening before beginning your Himalayan adventure.

After breakfast, your adventure begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu toward the Jugal Himal region. You will drive from Kathmandu through Koteswor, following the road toward Melamchi Bazaar. The journey takes you through beautiful countryside, terraced farmland, forested hills, traditional villages, and winding mountain roads. As the road climbs deeper into the remote Himalayan foothills, the landscape becomes increasingly peaceful and dramatic. After approximately 6–7 hours of driving, you will reach the Tembathang/Chhendang area at around 2,636 meters. After checking into your local accommodation, you can relax and explore the surrounding village. This overnight stop also allows your body to begin adjusting to the increasing altitude.

Today marks the beginning of your trek into the remote valleys of the Jugal Himal range. After breakfast, begin walking along peaceful mountain trails surrounded by dense forests and dramatic Himalayan landscapes. The trail gradually gains elevation as you move farther away from the settlements and deeper into the wilderness. Along the route, you may encounter beautiful alpine vegetation, mountain streams, rocky terrain, and traditional grazing areas. As you approach Ne-Pemachhal, the scenery opens up toward the impressive peaks of the Jugal Himal range. One of the major attractions of this area is the opportunity to see Dorje Lakpa and other snow-covered Himalayan peaks, weather permitting. After approximately 5–6 hours of trekking, arrive at Ne-Pemachhal and settle into your basic mountain accommodation.

Today is the main highlight of the Jugal Himal Base Camp Trek. Wake up early and prepare for a challenging day in the high mountains. After breakfast, begin your ascent toward Jugal Himal Base Camp, gradually entering the alpine and glacial environment of the Jugal Himal range. As you gain altitude, vegetation becomes increasingly sparse and the landscape transforms into rugged mountain terrain. Depending on the season and trail conditions, you may encounter snow-covered sections, rocky paths, alpine meadows, and glacial landscapes. At approximately 4,700 meters, reach the Jugal Himal Base Camp area. From here, you can enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks and glaciers, including views toward Dorje Lakpa and other impressive mountains of the Jugal range. Spend some time at the base camp enjoying the incredible scenery and taking photographs before beginning the descent. The return journey to Ne-Pemachhal follows the same general route. Descending carefully is important because the trail can be rocky, steep, and affected by changing weather conditions. Overnight: Ne-Pemachhal *(Altitude note: Today involves reaching approximately 4,700 m. Your guide will monitor your condition and may adjust the itinerary according to weather, trail conditions, and your physical condition)

After breakfast, begin your descent from Ne-Pemachhal toward the road head at Tembathang/Chhendang. The return trek takes you through the peaceful mountain forests and valleys that you experienced earlier in the journey. Take your time to enjoy the final views of the Jugal Himal landscape before reaching the road. After arriving at the road head, board your private 4WD Jeep and begin the scenic drive back toward Kathmandu. The journey follows the mountain roads through villages, hills, and terraced farmland before eventually reaching the Kathmandu Valley. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, check into your hotel and enjoy a well-deserved rest after your Himalayan adventure.

After breakfast, you will have some free time depending on your flight schedule. Our representative from Himanshu Tours and Travels will transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport approximately 3 hours before your scheduled international flight.
